Preventing loss
before it happens.
Occupational Health, Safety, and Loss Prevention Engineer with experience supporting major infrastructure and power projects in Saudi Arabia. Currently part of the National Grid SA safety team, focused on preventing workplace incidents, developing Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), and delivering frontline safety training. Committed to strengthening safety culture, improving operational discipline, and implementing proactive risk management strategies that protect people, assets, and project objectives.
I began my career as an Electrical Site Engineer, where That technical foundation continues to influence my approach to occupational health and safety, allowing me to evaluate hazards with an engineering mindset rather than relying solely on checklist compliance. I believe effective safety management starts with understanding how work is performed, how systems interact, and where failures can occur before they lead to incidents. Throughout my career, I have applied this perspective across major infrastructure and power projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and project management to identify risks, strengthen operational controls, and improve safety performance. My expertise includes incident investigation, root cause analysis, contractor HSE management, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and the development of practical safety procedures that support both operational excellence and workforce protection.
Career trajectory
Each milestone marks a step toward zero-harm leadership — from field engineering to safety and loss prevention.

Achievements
Client-Recognized HSE Performance
Earned high praise and satisfaction from SEC and PMC stakeholders across the Dirab substation build, contributing directly to positive project delivery outcomes.
Safety Culture on a Live HV Site
Built proactive hazard-reporting behavior among subcontractor crews working around energized 380kV equipment — a genuinely high-consequence environment.
Reduced Incidents Through Reporting Systems
Introduced hazard ID & reporting structures at King Faisal Air Academy that measurably cut workplace accidents and near-misses.
Faster Emergency Response
Improved emergency response procedures through structured drills and training, sharpening preparedness and response times across site teams.
Safety isn't a checklist bolted onto engineering — it's engineering done right. Understanding what's behind the panel is what lets me protect the people standing in front of it.
— Faisal Alhowiti, on working HSE inside live HV environmentsLeading without direct authority
On multi-contractor sites, safety leadership rarely comes with a reporting line. I earn compliance by running clear toolbox talks and inductions, mentoring junior HSE staff, and giving supervisors and subcontractors a safety case they can act on — not just a rule to follow.
I sit close to project engineering, translating electrical and construction risk into language site teams actually use, and represent HSE directly in client and PMC coordination meetings.
